On
Good Friday,
He was crucified, died, and was buried.
Three days later, on
Easter Sunday,
He rose again, having defeated sin, death, and the
devil for us.
During the Easter season, we focus on the resurrection of Jesus and what it means for us.
Because Jesus rose, we can be sure that...
1)He is God's Son. Romans 1:4 [He] was declared with power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead
2) He is our Savior. Romans 4:25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification. ("Justify" means to declare "not guilty." This word pictures a judge telling the accused there is no longer any charge against him. God declared us "not guilty" because of Jesus' death and resurrection. Jesus paid for our sins. Therefore, we are free from the penalty of sin)
3) He speaks the truth; we can trust Him when He tells us something. Matthew 28:5-6 The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said."
4) He will raise us fron the dead. John 14:19 Because I live, you also will live
